  • Intern in Washington D.C., live with other UT Systems students, and take classes for a full semester of credit

• • Collaboration between the UTSW Geriatrics Division and honors students

  • Allows pre-health students to engage in weekly volunteer activities at the elderly inpatient unit of UTSW's Clements Hospital

  • Direct care of patients for a faster recovery time and better well-being

• • Research opportunity with UT Southwestern available to most STEM majors for spring of junior (sometimes senior) year 

  • Semester of UT Dallas credit and full-time intensive research training and mentoring with UTSW faculty

  • Applications open in June, due in September, with interviews in October

• Take a UTD professor out for a meal with 3-4 other HWHC students (once per semester)

• Reimbursed up to $25 per person including tax & tip

Spread awareness of the Terry Scholarship at high schools and community colleges. The digital copies of print materials can be shared as-is, or scholars can request physical copies to hand out at their presentations. Materials can be found HERE!

UTD VolunTIER 

• • Awarded to graduating seniors who have volunteered at least 40 hours per semester for 8 long semesters

  • Minimum of 6 credit hours each semester and maintain a GPA of 3.25

  • Not noted on transcripts, but looks good on a resume

  • Receive a Service Honors medallion during Honors Convocation
