2022 GRADUATES

Raneem Albostanni graduated cum laude with a degree in neuroscience. She served as president of the Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students, secretary of the Terry Scholars Student Organization, community outreach representative for the UT Dallas PINK chapter, and vice chief of the UTSW Texas Emergency Medicine Research Associates Program. Raneem was also a transfer mentor, biology teaching assistant, and worked as a research assistant with Dr. Engineer, conducting research on auditory processing via vagus nerve stimulation. She also studied Islamic Civilization in Morocco and France. Albostanni is pursuing an advanced degree in healthcare.

Gizman Baraso graduated cum laude with a degree in healthcare studies and a minor in biology. Baraso was a SHPEP Scholar at Western University of Health Sciences and served as freshman enrichment coordinator for the Terry Scholars Student Organization. She was also an officer in the Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students, Black Students for Public Health, and was active in the student ambassador program and freshman mentor program. Baraso will work as a medical assistant while applying to graduate school.

Blanka Bordas graduated with a degree in biology and with Collegium V Honors. Bordas served as the secretary and also as an enrichment advisor for the Terry Scholars Student Organization. She worked as a student associate for two summers in the Cellular and Integrative Physiology Department at the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio. Bordas is pursuing a PhD in Translational Biology, Medicine, and Health at Virginia Tech.

Rene Davila graduated cum laude with a degree in biomedical engineering. He worked in Dr. Varner's bioengineering lab for two years, performed with Comet Opera, and volunteered regularly with Three Oaks Hospice. Davila will work as an applications engineer for National Instruments in Austin, while pursuing a master's degree in electrical engineering.

Josue Fonseca graduated magna cum laude with a degree in healthcare studies. He served as a peer advisor, service coordinator for the Terry Scholars Student Organization, delegado for the Center for US-Latin American Initiatives, a student ambassador for J.A.M.P. and H.P.A.C., a teaching assistant, and as a contact tracer for Dallas County. Josue volunteered as a Spanish translator at a medical clinic for the uninsured. He participated in the Clark Summer Research Program and internships at Baylor College of Medicine, UTSW, and the Last Writers Program. Josue will attend UT Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine, participating in a dual MD/MPH degree with UT Health School of Public Health. 

Mohammad Hamed is a first-generation scholar who graduated with a degree in finance. He worked as a project manager and focused on entrepreneurial pursuits. He was a three-year Camp Kesem counselor, a fellow in the CAFÉ program, participated in the Young WISE Investigators Program, and served as service coordinator in the Terry Scholars Student Organization. Mohammad completed independent research on blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies in Europe. He will work in the finance industry.

Bryan Jennings graduated with a degree in Information Technology and Systems. He interned as an Information Security Associate with the UT System. Bryan will work at the American Eagle Intelligence Office as a Tableau Developer.

Prince Nze graduated with a double major in mathematics and actuarial science. He was a student ambassador and assisted with events hosted by the president and other campus leaders. He was named Homecoming King and is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Nze will work in the business division at Discover Financial Services while pursuing a master's degree in business analytics.

Robert Pinter graduated with a double major in biology and healthcare studies and as a member of the prestigious Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Pinter served as president and first year coordinator of the Terry Scholars Student Organization as well as a mentor and event coordinator for the UT Dallas freshman mentor program. He also served as co-director for Camp Kesem and played intramural sports. He worked in Dr. De Nisco's lab researching recurrent UTIs and as a medical scribe for three years. Pinter plans to attend Physician Assistant school.

Genesis Santos is a first-generation scholar who graduated with a degree in healthcare studies. She served as social coordinator and historian for the Terry Scholars Student Organization and was also a part of the First-Gen Student Program and UTeach Dallas. Santos will attend nursing school after graduation to become a registered nurse.

Alex Saunders graduated with a double major in finance and supply chain management. Saunders was a member of the Omega Rho Honor Society, a fellow in the CAFÉ program, and a student government senator. She was also a peer advisor for three years, helping students acclimate to college and become more involved at UT Dallas. She was a financial analyst intern for a Dallas non-profit and an operations intern for Amazon. Saunders will work for Amazon in her hometown of Houston.

Muhammad Shah graduated with a degree in Information Technology and Systems with a minor in Business Intelligence and Analytics. He was involved in the Association of Information Systems, Cyber Security Club, and Tau Sigma Honor Society. Shah did several IT internships as well. Shah is in the fast-track program and will pursue a career in information security.

Divina Vera graduated summa cum laude, with major honors, and as a member of the prestigious Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society with a degree in American Studies and concentrations in Gender Studies and Latin America Studies. Vera served as vice president, historian, and peer advisor for the Terry Scholars Student Organization. She also worked as a mentor in the UTDallas freshman mentor program, delegada in the Center for U.S. Latin American Initiatives, Americorps program assistant at Heart House, and research assistant for Dr. Lllamas-Rodriguez. Vera will serve as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in the Canary Islands.

Matthew Winter graduated with a degree in Mathematics. He was involved in cross country and participated in an NSF program at UNT doing research in legal-based word embedding. Winter will work at Globe Life as an Actuarial Analyst.

Daniel Wood graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering in December. Wood was involved in research with the Boundary Layer and Subsonic Tunnel, known as the BLAST wind tunnel. Before transferring to UT Dallas, he founded and served as vice president of the robotics team KatatroniX at Sam Houston State University. Wood will pursue a master’s degree in mechanical engineering with a focus in design and manufacturing.
